We offer a unique opportunity for people to use the famous Land Rover Defender as the vehicle that will take them on their final journey. The defender, one of the most iconic vehicles in the world is perfect for any Land Rover enthusiast or anyone who would like something special or different to take them to their funeral service.

The long history and versatility of the  Defender makes it a truly special vehicle, The Defender has been used all over the world, in many varied situations from exploration and agriculture to construction and rallying, it creates a special bond between person and car that no other vehicle can match. With so many people having such a passion for this unrivaled vehicle, it seems only fitting that they can take their final journey in it.

Each individual service will be unique and special to you via our carriage master service, allowing for a worry free and easy funeral.

We are happy to travel all over the UK in our Defender Hearse to make sure the perfect vehicle is used for their final send off. 

Please note that we can only accept coffins shorter than 2100mm (6.8ft) and narrower than 850mm (2.7ft) in our Defender Hearse.

  • What size coffin can the Defender Hearse take?

    Our Land Rover Defender hearse has had a custom bed fabricated which allows for coffins of a maximum size of 2100mm (6.8ft) and narrower than 850mm (2.7ft). Please note due to the height of the deck, it's often not possible to place flowers on top of the coffin

  • Do you allow special requests?

    Yes, all special requests are considered no matter how big or small! This can be down to the driver wearing a specific tie to towing a gun carriage behind the Land Rover Hearse!

  • Can a passenger travel in the Defender hearse?

    Yes, normally the funeral director or a family member will often travel with the driver of the Land Rover Hearse. Please note, that as this is a standard 110 Defender that space can be tight. Occasionally have had to move and fold the passengers sear forward, to allow for larger wicker coffins meaning we can't take a passenger.

  • What area do you cover?

    Our Land Rover Defender Hearse is based in the Cotswolds but covers the whole of the UK. We have travelled down to Cornwall and up to Newcastle in the same week! 

  • How do I book the Land Rover Hearse?

Our professional drivers of our Defender Hearse can wear clothing to match the 4x4 theme such as tweeds for example, or they can wear traditional funeral attire.
 Our Land Rover Hearse can be delivered fully valeted or can be supplied dirty and muddy like the Defender should be, allowing for a fully authentic off road send off!

Our tailored carriage master service allows for a bespoke package for each individual. We can offer further Land Rover Defenders to take family and close friends to the service, along with a Range Rovers if loved ones wish to travel in a bit more style and comfort to and from the service. We also have available a selection of Classic Land Rovers, Ranger Rovers and Rally Defenders along with the Defender hearse for use in the procession to create a truly special 4x4 send off!
